Turtle Ice Cream Pie

Homemade Turtle Ice Cream Pie – Inspired by Baskin Robbins

A decadent frozen dessert layered with pralines and cream ice cream, hot fudge, caramel, and crunchy pecans — perfect for birthdays, holidays, or any sweet celebration.

When my daughter turned eight, she requested one thing for her birthday: a Turtle Ice Cream Pie inspired by the classic Baskin Robbins favorite. So we rolled up our sleeves and created our own homemade version — and honestly, it might be even better than the original! This Turtle Ice Cream Pie is the ultimate mix of creamy, crunchy, chocolatey, and caramel goodness — all nestled in a rich Oreo cookie crust.

Whether you’re celebrating something special or just craving a show-stopping frozen dessert, this no-bake ice cream pie is sure to steal the spotlight.

Servings: 8–10
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Freeze Time: 4 hours (or overnight)
Total Time: 4 hours 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 24 Oreo cookies (crushed finely)

  • 5 tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 quart Pralines and Cream ice cream (softened slightly)

  • ½ cup hot fudge sauce

  • ½ cup caramel sauce

  • ½ cup chopped pecans (plus extra for garnish)

  • Whipped cream (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Make the Crust:
Crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs (a food processor works great). Mix with melted butter until well combined. Press firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie dish. Freeze for 10–15 minutes until set.

  2. Layer the Ice Cream:
Spread softened Pralines and Cream ice cream evenly over the chilled crust. Smooth the top and place in the freezer for about 30 minutes to firm up.

  3. Add the Turtle Magic:
Warm hot fudge and caramel sauce just enough to drizzle. Spread or drizzle both sauces over the ice cream layer, then sprinkle with chopped pecans. Return to the freezer for at least 3–4 hours, or until completely firm.

  4. Finish & Serve:
Before serving, top with whipped cream, extra pecans, and an extra drizzle of caramel and fudge for that signature turtle sundae look. Slice and enjoy!

Tips & Variations

  • Swap in chocolate or vanilla ice cream if you can’t find pralines and cream.

  • Add crushed toffee bits or chocolate chips for extra crunch.

  • For a make-ahead dessert, prepare the pie up to 3 days in advance and keep frozen until ready to serve.
